May is National Foster Care Awareness Month, a time recognized across the country to raise awareness about the needs of children and youth in foster care and to honor the individuals and families who support them. Established to highlight the importance of safety, stability, and permanency, each year the month serves as a call to action for communities to get involved.
Here in Miami-Dade County, you’re invited to be part of that effort.
Join the Miami-Dade County Foster and Adoptive Parent Association and Citrus Family Care Network on Friday, May 15th, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Government Center Atrium (111 NW First Street, Miami, FL 33128) for a day of community engagement. The celebration will feature information booths, resources and special recognition for outstanding caregivers.
Every day, children in our community need safe, stable, and nurturing homes. Foster parents step in during critical moments by providing care, consistency, and support while families work toward reunification.
