Our Commitment to Addressing Child Welfare Disparities

As the Community Based Care Lead Agency for Child Welfare in the Southern Region Citrus Family Care Network is undertaking the Addressing Child Welfare Disparities (ACWD) Initiative to identify and address systemic disparities that disproportionately affect people of diverse and minority races, ethnicities, sexual orientations and gender identities in the System of Care in Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties.

As an agency, Citrus FCN is dedicated to overseeing, modernizing, integrating and improving a coordinated System of Care serving Miami in order to protect children, strengthen families, and engage communities and ensure prompt, effective and high-quality services and care. The ACWD initiative is part in parcel with Citrus FCN’s vision of every at-risk child in our community growing up with a safe, loving, nurturing and permanent family.

Citrus FCN’s ACWD Initiative is in partnership with the Florida Department of Children and Families, partner agencies and other community stakeholders.
