CONCLUDED: Expanded Division X Chafee Funding for Youth, Families, & Young Adults

Monday, August 22, 2022

**Update: As of September 30, 2022, the availability of Division X Chafee funds has concluded for all youth. Eligible requests submitted prior to September 30th will be processed, but new requests for funds are not being accepted.**

The Chafee Foster Care Independent Living Program had additional funds to help youth in foster care, their foster families and former foster youth recover from the recent COVID-19 public health emergency.

Youth between the ages of 14-17 with open dependency cases in-home, as well as those currently in out of home care, including relative/non-relative placements and level one licensed homes, post-adoption youth and former foster youth, ages 18-23, were eligible for financial assistance!

Many funding categories were offering additional funds, and youth who previously received Division X Chafee funds, were eligible for additional incentives or funds.

***New Information: The federal government and the Florida Department of Children and Families have approved a second round one-time stimulus payment for eligible youth (ages 14-17) and young adults (ages 18-23). Refer to the guides below for more information.***
